It’s a nice website and it’s environmentally friendly from the “go green” color layout to the streaming message stating “Planting 100 trees right here in Colorado for every car purchased.” Now that is impressive! So if you’re eco conscious and want to contribute to the foresting of one of my favorite western states, then make your purchase at Flatiron, a Denver Land Rover Dealer. They’re reputed to have the state’s largest selection so that could amount to a lot of trees if sales are good. Support their Colorado tree project and look for the official logo on their website.

I clicked over to the hours and directions module where I found a fun interactive satellite imaging map.  The inventory is exciting to browse in their flash photo stream that gives a real 3 D effect.  The Range Rover models for 2009 display really well in this imaging style. It’s like actually being on the lot to check out their models in stock.

By the way, Flatirons Land Rover specializes only in Land Rovers.  I give them an extra thumbs up for knowing their product and the market.  Flatirons is not out to make a fortune at your cost. Their prices are comparable with room to face the competition.

Flatirons caters to the economical buyer. Used Land Rover Cars are plenty in their supply. Each vehicle wears the “pre-owned” claim sticker so you can make an informed choice when browsing.  I was impressed with their 30 second online credit application. Everything about their website spells ease and satisfaction to the users. There’s even a twitter and facebook button on the front page so you can follow them and become a fan. It’s such a modern way to hook up and catch the quickest news on their great 2009 sales and special edition Land Rovers. Flatirons keeps up with the times and their competition.

Raise your hand if you can relate.

My creative zeal and my desire to write gets quashed whenever I push hard writing lots of articles every day to add some invisible calculator until it reaches X amount of dollars. ..just so I can pay the rent and bills or buy groceries. I write many articles for content sites or paid blog reviews for lower dollar amounts so that it takes much more effort and time to reach that X dollar sum for the day.

It is exhausting….and frustrating…..and disappointing…..

And this practice doesn’t allow time to pursue the creative magazine stories or that favorite research project or that novel on the shelf collecting dust.

Enough already!

It’s time for solutions. End the hand wringing long hours at the computer typing away lost in a fog.

Let’s explore some of the common techniques used to find private clients, then come up with ideas for new ways to generate interest in you as a freelance writer.

1. Post a resume or portfolio online using various methods, sites and formats.
2. Create a bio on your personal website and/or blog.
3. Search the internet for opportunities then communicate with a proposal to individual listings.
4. Advertise your work on social sites like twitter, Facebook, My Space, Linkedin and etc.
5. Join content sites who pay you per view and write tons of content for a free bio listing and the exposure you will gain from their audience.
6. Word of mouth through friends, family and your immediate circle.

A favorite in my family is books, which is great since so many of us are also writers. I love browsing the bookstores checking out all the latest titles and its even more fun if I’m shopping for someone else.

Do you make gift lists? It’s a good way to remember every one’s names so you won’t forget any one on your list. Next, I brainstorm ideas for gifts that I believe my friends and loved ones will cherish. After a few days thought, I’m open to scratching some items from the list but only after I have fun pricing them. Window shopping for the holidays is half the fun!
